Finland, Saudi Arabia guest countries of honor at 26th China int'l investment, trade fair

BEIJING, Aug. 25 -- The 26th China International Fair for Investment and Trade is set to take place from Sept. 8 to 11 in Xiamen, Fujian Province, with preparations now largely complete, Vice Commerce Minister Ling Ji said on Tuesday.

This year's edition introduces a "dual guest countries of honor" mechanism for the first time, with Finland and Saudi Arabia jointly assuming the role, Ling told a press conference.

"This underscores the fair's growing international appeal and its distinctive role in facilitating two-way investment," he said.

China is Finland's largest trading partner in Asia and its fourth largest globally. Last year, bilateral trade exceeded 8 billion U.S. dollars.

China is Saudi Arabia's largest trading partner, with bilateral trade exceeding 100 billion U.S. dollars for four consecutive years.

To date, delegations from 123 countries and regions have registered to participate in the upcoming fair, while 60 countries and regions will set up exhibition pavilions. Multinational companies and foreign business councils have registered in large numbers, Ling noted.

The fair will be structured around three core thematic sections: "Invest in China," "China's Outbound Investment" and "International Investment."

The event will feature 14 specialized exhibition zones, showcasing investment opportunities in new quality productive forces, the "Silk Road Maritime" initiative, international supply chains, and other promising sectors.
