The State Council has recently granted formal approval for the establishment of the Xiamen Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone. With this addition, Xiamen now has three comprehensive bonded zones, including the Xiamen Xiangyu Comprehensive Bonded Zone, the Xiamen Haicang Port Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and the Xiamen Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone. As Xiamen's first airport-type comprehensive bonded zone, the approval marks the city's formation of a fully integrated sea, land, and air bonded openness system. Located in Xiang'an District, Xiamen, and covering a planned area of 1.05 square kilometers, the zone is adjacent to Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport, enabling seamless zone-port connectivity and coordinated operations. According to the plan, the zone will align with the three-dimensional industrial system of the Xiang'an International Airport's aviation economic area. It will develop a full industrial chain for aviation maintenance, including bonded aviation maintenance, domestic aircraft service support, and aircraft engine remanufacturing; commercial and trade services such as international logistics and distribution, bonded aviation materials trading, cross-border e-commerce, and aviation financial leasing; as well as high-tech industries including next-generation information technology, new energy and new materials, life and health sciences, aerospace information, and science, education, and research and development.
